Many things in this world are rare: finding good parking, matching socks, ad-free YouTube videos and on and on. Something more rare in this life is experiencing a legend in the flesh. We typically read or hear about them in articles and documentaries, but they are usually long gone. In the case of Joe Bonamassa, he is still very much alive and fulfilling his role as one of the greatest blues guitarists in history.
If you’re unsure if you’ve experienced Joe Bonamassa’s music, you most likely have! He’s been influential in the world of music and blues for well over three decades. Starting as a child prodigy, he began honing his skills early and was quickly recognized by others for his profound talent. By 12-years-old, he was the opening act for legendary blues musician BB King! His career encapsulates 15 solo albums, of which 11 reached number 1 on the Billboard Charts.
Many famous guitarists often are shooting stars in the music scene, brightly shining and quickly dimming, but Joe is the opposite. His reputation and career’s endurance increases as time extends, continually releasing and performing his music to a wide-range of audiences that love and adore his soulful instrumentation.
On February 16th and February 25th, 2020, Joe blessed the stages of the King Center for the Performing Arts (Melbourne, FL) and Ruth Eckard Hall (Clearwater, FL). SoapTree Media had the honor of filming Joe and his masterful blend of blues, soul and rhythm. It’s one thing to hear Joe Bonamassa’s music through computer and car speakers, but was an unbeatable experience hearing Joe live in concert!
One of the greatest benefits of seeing Joe perform on stage was the energy in the crowd. He doesn’t play the guitar, the music plays him, becoming a vessel of rhythmic emotion unmatched by any other live show. As we video captured the event, we had the opportunity to experience the audience’s expression as Joe poured his heart into the venue. Their faces and ennergy exhibited the same feeling of his music – soulfully elevated.
If you think your time has passed to see Joe Bonamassa live, you are sadly mistaken! His current tour dates are on a roll with no signs of stopping. His official website can provide all the details – https://jbonamassa.com/tour-dates/.
